    One lifelined after multi-vehicle accident in Parke County

    PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A woman was lifelined after a multi-vehicle accident involving entrapment in Parke County Friday afternoon.

    The accident happened at U.S. Highway 41 and County Road 500 North in Parke County.

    Authorities responded and located 4 vehicles involved with entrapment and injuries.

    According to a news release from the Parke County Sheriff’s Department, a 2020 Cadillac being operated by Noel Bowers 77, of Bloomingdale was traveling northbound on U.S Highway 41 awaiting to turn left onto County Road 500 North.

    Jacob Stone 25, of Bloomingdale had been operating a 2000 Ford F250 and had stopped behind the Cadillac wanting to turn.

    Then, a 2008 Tahoe SUV operated by Emma Simpson 17, of Waveland rear-ended the F250.

    As a result, one of the vehicles northbound collided with a 2018 Ford Escape operated by Vernon Caldwell, 50 of Crown Point traveling southbound.

    Rachel Norman, 25 of Hillsdale was transported by ambulance from the scene, and was lifelined due to injuries sustained.

    Marshall First Responders, Bloomindale First Responders, Parke County EMS, and IU Lifeline all assisted at the scene.
