    Man arrested after severe animal abuse lead to death.

    TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Terre Haute Police Department arrested a man after a report of animal cruelty.

    According to a post on Facebook by the Terre Haute Police Department , Officers responded Sunday to the 2200 block of Chase Street around 7 p.m. due to a report of animal cruelty. When officers arrived at the scene they found a critically injured animal, along with the suspect and witnesses to the incident in question. After interviewing witnesses and the suspect and consulting with the Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect was taken into custody.

    James P. Minard, age 52, of Terre Haute, was charged with a misdemeanor and felony count of cruelty to an animal. Minard is currently being held in the Vigo County Jail. Sadly the injured animal did not survive its injuries and had to be put down to prevent further suffering.
