Do you live in the safest city in all of Pennsylvania?

While there are many safe places to live across Pennsylvania, only one is constantly referred to as the safest, based on property and violent crime rates over the course of a year. These cities are considered very great places to raise a family, and provide the peace of mind attached to feeling out of harm's way as you navigate your way through everyday life.

According to a list compiled by Safewise , the safest city in all of Pennsylvania is Hampden Township .

Here's what Safewise had to say about compiling the data to discover the safest places to live across America:

"For the purposes of city ranking reports, the terms “dangerous” and “safest” refer explicitly to crime rates as calculated from FBI crime data—no other characterization of any community is implied or intended. We calculated per capita crime rates for 44 states that submitted complete data to the FBI. Here's a look at how crime rates trended across the US. Violent crime rates held steady or decreased in 66% of states.15 states saw a jump in violent crime year over year. Property crime rates held steady or decreased in 64% of states—despite rising nationwide. 16 states saw a jump in property crime rates. 9 states saw both violent and property crime rates rise year over year."

Well, it’s easy to say crime is reduced when you stop prosecuting theft under $950 and agreeing to charge lesser/ lower level crimes.
