PRINCETON (WVNS) – With election night ending, we witnessed a lot of close races but let us take a moment to focus on the Mercer county school levy.

The Mercer County School Levy is over 15 million dollars in total.

This money will be distributed amongst different parts of the Mercer County School system.

Some numbers include 950 thousand dollars towards instructional supplies and 1.2 million dollars towards school upkeep

Jim Bailey, Member of the Mercer County Schools Board, said some of the funds of the levy go toward the pay of teachers and other faculty members.

“The levy itself makes up about 13 and a half percent of our total budget. Which is about 15 million dollars,” said Bailey to 59News.

The Mercer County School Levy passed with over 70 percent of voters voting yes and over 29 percent of voters voting no.
