Beckley Elementary School hosts Field Day

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — The school year was winding down on Friday, May 24, 2024, and the kids at Beckley Elementary School celebrated with an end of the school year field day party.

A giant, inflatable water slide made a big splash with students, and even some parents couldn’t resist going down the slide with their kids.

The day offered tattoos, an obstacle course and plenty of fair food.

One mother said she was ambushed by sneaky water balloon attacks.

“There’s like five or six of our girls that are together, and they like to catch you from behind and just water balloon you. So, yeah, they caught me off guard,” said Jenny Hinkle, president of the Beckley Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organization. “Yes, those kids, right there.”
