    Governor Jim Justice orders U.S. and State flags flown at half-staff on Memorial Day

    CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) — Governor Jim Justice ordered that all United States and West Virginia flags on all State-owned properties will be flown at half-staff from dawn until noon on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2024.

    The flags will be flown at half-mast to honor the memory of the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend the United States of America.

    In honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day, Governor Justice orders flags to be flown at half-staff

    The order also requested that all citizens display any United States and West Virginia flags at their homes at half-staff from dawn until noon on Memorial Day.

    In addition, Governor Justice’s asked every West Virginian to come together in prayer for permanent peace at 11 a.m. and observe the National Moment of Remembrance at 3 p.m.
