    Raleigh County man arrested and charged with Fentanyl crime

    SHADY SPRING, WV (WVNS) — A Raleigh County man was charged with a drug crime after a search warrant was carried out at a Raleigh County house.

    65-year-old Claude Spence, of Shady Spring, was arrested and charged with delivery of Fentanyl.

    Members of the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team and the Raleigh County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force carried out a search warrant on July 2, 2024 at a house on Fire Trail Road in the Shady Spring area of Raleigh County.

    During the search, two guns and a small amount of what was believed to be Fentanyl was seized by law enforcement.

    Spence was arraigned before the Raleigh County Magistrate Court, and his bond is set at $10,000.

    Ansted man faces felony charges in Fayette County

    According to the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, all suspects/defendants are believed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    Members of the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, Beckley Police Department, the West Virginia State Police, the FBI, and ATF make up the Raleigh County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force.
