BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — The Salvation Army’s Boys and Girls Club is hosting a Steak N’ Burger Night in order to raise money for the club.

In a fun twist, on the night of the dinner the kids will eat the steak, while mom and dad are left to decide between cheese or no cheese on their burgers.

All of the proceeds will benefit The Boys and Girls Club of Beckley.

Emma Harvey, Director of the Club, said the lion’s share of the funds will go toward feeding local kids.

“We provide lunches during the summer camp and dinners during our after-school program. So, last year we spent a total of 26-thousand dollars to feed our children. So, that will be a significant chunk of where the proceeds go to,” said Harvey.

The dinner will be held at The Moose Lodge in Beckley, who donated the venue and the food for the evening.

Tickets are still available, but going quickly.

The Steak N’ Burger Night begins at 6 p.m. on August 14th.

To reserve your spot at the table you can go to the Boys &Girls Club webpage , visit the brand-new Salvation Army Headquarters at 2871 Robert C. Byrd Drive in Beckley, or give them a call at (304) 253-9541.
