HILLDALE, WV (WVNS) — Riverside Kitten Rescue hosted a Benefit Yard Sale in order to raise funds to help them with some much-needed repairs.

Earlier this month, a car accident saw the front of the organization’s storage building damaged.

The Rescue is completely non-profit and holds yard sales in the summer months in order to raise the money they need to care for the kittens they shelter.

Krystle Adkins, founder and president of the rescue, said the storage building holds the donations they use in the yard sales.

“As you can see, we have a lot of donations that were in that building. A lot of the stuff in the front room is completely ruined, broken. We’re just gonna have to haul it away and pay landfill fees. We’re gonna have to fix the building,” said Adkins.

Adkins said all of those costs will eat into the budget they have for the care of the kittens and cats.

The rescue ensures that all cats and kittens are spayed or neutered before they are adopted out.
