A clear and crisp overnight; Monday keeps sunny skies around
By Matt Cassada,

Sunday evening starts with a few clouds and temps sitting nicely in the 70s. With high pressure in our way tonight, little cloud cover and no chances for rain showers tonight. Should be a great evening to enjoy the Charles Wesley Godwin concert at 8 PM at the State Fair of West Virginia. Overnight lows will drop comfortably into the 50s.
Monday again looks great as we enjoy another day of high pressure around. It will start off with temps in the 50s/60s once again, slowly climbing into the middle to upper 70s by dinnertime. High pressure will slowly loose control overnight as clouds begin to build in from west to east, as overnight temps drop into the 50s.
Tuesday sees a shortwave pass through, first during the morning hours. Given how weak this shortwave is and also with plenty of dry air in place, there will be very few opportunities for showers. Stray to isolated chances will be around at best, with most just seeing a partly cloudy day with temps getting into the low 80s.
Wednesday sees our high pressure build in across our area to our north. This will bring back a drier day once again for Wednesday, with rain chances existing farther down to our south at this point. Partly sunny skies again and given more dry time, temps will try to get into the low to middle 80s during the afternoon.
Thursday again sees our lingering high pressure staying put across the north, at least for one more day. This again will bring us a sunny start as high pressure shifts off to the east. Partly cloudy skies during the afternoon will again assist afternoon highs getting into the low to middle 80s for most.
Friday will see a low-pressure system start to move in over the Great Lakes. As this system moves towards the east, it will provide us with the chance for isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms. A few could carry over into the evening/overnight so something to be mindful of if you wish to go see the Oliver Anthony concert at 8:00 PM.
Saturday continues with the chance for isolated to scattered showers in the morning as our low-pressure system crosses. As we get into the afternoon timeframe, those chances will turn into chances for thunderstorms though the abundant cloud cover will keep highs in the low 80s.
Sunday again sees the chance for some showers with our low pressure system nearby. We should catch a few breaks but isolated to scattered morning showers and afternoon storms do look possible. Our partly to mostly cloudy look will at least make the afternoon a little comfy as high struggle to get into the upper 70s.
In your extended forecast, we continue to watch as our low pressure system moves off to the east though this system will likely need some tweaking throughout the week. Chances for showers as possible Monday through Tuesday before officially drying out completely by Wednesday.
