Beckley’s 7th Annual Honey Festival will sweeten up your weekend!

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — Beckley’s 7th annual Honey Festival happens the weekend of Saturday, August 17, 2024!

So, what kinds of sweet treats can festival-goers expect from this year’s event? Kettle corn and roasted corn are two sweet summer treats attendees will get to try.

Mark Lilly, President of the Raleigh County Beekeepers Cooperative Association, said that there will also be honey, of course!

“It’s something for the entire family. It’s free to come, so there’s no charge for admission. You can taste honey from all the local beekeepers, vote on what you think is the best honey, and, if you’re interested, then you can purchase some of it,” said Lilly.

Lilly said there will also be a honeybee dissections and live hive demonstrations in order to educate people on bees.

Live music will be provided by the Long Point String Band and the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine will be open for regular tours.

The Beckley Honey Festival begins at 10 A.M. on August 17, 2024 at the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine.

The event ends at 4 P.M. the same day.
