$10 million awarded to Princeton Health Care Center for new facility

PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) — The Princeton Health Care Center will soon be receiving money that will go towards the building of a new facility.

On August 2, 2024, an announcement from Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) stated that Princeton Health Care Center was preliminarily granted $10 million in Congressionally Directed Spending funds (CDS).

Once the funds have been received, they will be used to construct a new nursing facility to assist in meeting the needs of local residents and the community.

This is an incredible milestone for Princeton Health Care Center. Once finalized, this will allow us to make huge leaps toward a new facility that will allow for additional private rooms, increased infection prevention measures, and many new amenities for both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care residents. We are so appreciative of the consideration of Senator Shelley Moore Capito, Senator Joe Manchin, and the appropriation committee for recognizing this need and offering the support to make our new facility a reality.

Now, the Senate and House of Representatives must agree on draft bills reported by each other for the Fiscal Year 2025 appropriations bill to be signed into law by the President. Princeton Health Care Center is the community’s lone not-for-profit skilled nursing facility, which opened in 1981.
