GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (WVNS) – It’s the last year for an iconic sports card collector and buyer at the State Fair. Dean’s House of Cards has been stationed inside the Grandstand Marketplace for 18 years but 2024 will be its last. Owner Larrie Dean sells baseball, basketball, hockey, football, Magic the Gathering and Pokemon cards as well as Beanie Babies and other collectables. Larrie says he and his wife travel to shows throughout the country every year and though this year is their last buying and selling at the fair, they have thoroughly enjoyed it here.

“People, the fair and venue – some of the collections that I’ve bought because people have brought in collections to me – some of them very interesting and very nice,” comments Larrie Dean.

Larrie says he and his wife will be back next year for the 100th State Fair of West Virginia, but only as visitors to enjoy the sights and sounds of the fair and to see old friends.
