BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — Folks count on Little Caesar’s in Beckley for a crowd pleasing pizza and taking care of police officer’s best friends.

Every year, Little Caesar’s Pizza Paws campaign provides first-aid doggy kits to K-9 handlers every year for their four-legged partners.

The Pizza Paws campaign made a stop at Beckley Police Department on Thursday, August 15, 2024, to deliver the medical kits.

What is West Virginia’s favorite dog breed?

A campaign spokesperson said the Pizza Paws effort started in West Virginia.

“We wanted to be able to reach as many handlers as we can,” said Sabrina Donahue Moore. “Right now, it is in surrounding places, in Kentucky and Ohio, but we get requests from all around the country, from handlers and other Little Caesar’s franchisees that want to help out and to give back to their community, the same way.”

She said the first-aid kits offer K-9 handlers a way of giving their four-legged partners emergency medical care while they’re on duty and waiting on a veterinarian.

Moore said community members make the program possible by donating.
