Road closure to partially reopen in part of Raleigh County

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — A a storm sewer replacement in the Beckley area of Raleigh County will partially change a road closure schedule.

According to a press release from the Beckley Sanitary Board, Pinewood Dr in the Maxwell Hill neighborhood will be reopened on weekday evenings and weekends starting on Friday, August 16, 2024.

Although the road will be reopened on weekday evenings and weekends, the Beckley Sanitary Board stated that the road will still be closed from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. during the day due to a storm sewer replacement.

According to the Beckley Sanitary Board, the construction for the storm sewer replacement is estimated to be finished before Friday, August 23, 2024. They also stated that once the construction is complete, traffic will be able to use the road again until a road closure is planned at a later date for repaving.
