High school football preview: Greenbrier West Cavaliers

GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (WVNS) – Only one team in southern West Virginia went a perfect 10-0 in 2023 and that team was the Greenbrier West Cavaliers.

The Cavaliers went undefeated in the regular season, beat Wirt County in the first round, squeaked by Wahama in the second round and then defeated James Monroe for the second time last season before falling just short in the championship game to Williamstown.

Coach Kelly Vaughan, now in his second full season at the helm as head coach, is ready to reload his team and make an even deeper run this year through the playoffs and win a state championship.
