Student from Tazewell receives scholarship from Ferrellgas

TAZEWELL COUNTY, VA (WVNS) — A student from Tazewell, Virginia received a scholarship from Ferrellgas, a nationwide propane logistics company, to help in her goal to pursue further educational opportunities.

Ashlynn Sarver is pursuing a degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders at Radford University through the Ferrellgas Scholarship Program. She is the daughter of Dana Sarver, a Ferrellgas Customer Success Specialist-QA in North Tazewell, VA.

“Our family is so thankful for this scholarship! I am so thankful to work for an amazing company!” said Dana.

“Continuing your education is no small feat. Ferrellgas is proud to support the educational pursuits of all our scholarship recipients, including Ashlynn,” said General Manager – CS Quality Nancy VanScyoc.

According to a press release, the Ferrellgas Scholarship Program has been providing funding for scholarships for children of Ferrellgas employees and Blue Rhino, their other industry-leading propane tank brand for more than 30 years. In order to be eligible for this scholarship program, students must maintain an academic status, participate in school activities, and meet certain financial requirements.

The Ferrellgas Scholarship Program is part of the Ferrellgas Century Project. The release continued to state that Ferrellgas plans to continue its support for certain initiatives up until the year 2039 and beyond, which will also mark the company’s 100th year in business.
