WVU Tech officials welcome students to campus

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — Blue and gold was the color along South Kanawha Street in downtown Beckley on Monday, August 19, 2024 as WVU Tech students returned to campus.

Incoming freshman arriving for the first time were given a warm welcome along with orientation.

WVU Tech deans offered support to freshman on Monday morning, letting them know university rules, where to go for help, and what they may expect during their first year of college.

“It’s an amazing class of incoming students and we have an amazing group of returning students,” said WVU Tech Dean of Students Emily Sands, whose presentation was met with enthusiasm from freshmen. “I’m looking forward to everything they’re going to do in the class to be successful, presentations, papers, research, as well as getting involved in our local community.”

Sands said the goal was to give every student the knowledge and the right tools to succeed.
