BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — The City of Beckley, in collaboration with community partners, have an exciting day of family fun planned at New River Park on August 24, 2024.

Join in on the family fun with games, water-themed activities, food, and information from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Water activities include foam and bubbles for the kids, beach ball volleyball, luau- and water-themed spaces; kids are welcome to bring their bikes to decorate and get involved in a parade around the park at 1 p.m. There will also be balloon animals, karaoke, a picture booth, hula hoop contest, and a bounce house. Refreshments will be available at the shelter located near the entrance of the park while supplies last.

Just for Kids holds the Partners in Prevention grant in Raleigh County. This grant focuses on collaboration and innovation between community partners to serve children and families in West Virginia and to promote healthy families. When the City of Beckley offered to host the event at the park, we were ecstatic because their support in our organization exemplifies the purpose of this event.
