Release date announced for West Virginia-made comedy film

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — A public premiere date for a comedy film made in West Virginia will take place in September 2024.

According to a press release, a premiere date towards the end of September 2024 was announced by the producers of the comedy film, “Ambrosia!,” which was made in the Mountain State, and tickets can be found here .

The press release stated that a public premiere will occur in the Beckley area of Raleigh County on September 27, 2024. According to the press release, the premiere date was announced by production companies Butter Chicken Pictures and Mtn. Craft Studios, and that parts of the film were shot in the Beckley area of Raleigh County.

The comedy, “Ambrosia!,” will be shown across the state and the nation after the public premiere, before being shown on streaming platforms.

We’ve had many excited community members asking about its availability on digital streaming services, but most film festivals will not accept the film if it is streaming, so we won’t be able to make those commitments until later.

We’re working with theaters to confirm showings, but each requires a different set of agreements, so it’s an involved process that couldn’t be approached until the movie was ready.

According to the press release, “Ambrosia!” is a 90-minute long comedy film that follows the misadventures of an innkeeper who struggles to manage a house full of eccentric guests and staff. The press release stated that Shane Pierce and David Gravely, who wrote and directed the film, aimed to create a Hollywood-style screwball comedy.
