High school football preview: River View Raiders

MCDOWELL COUNTY, WV (WVNS) – The Raiders of River View were impressive in 2023 and will look to build on that for a potential playoff berth in 2024.

River View began the season with a slow start, as they came out of the gate with a record of 2-4 through the first six games of the 2023 season. However, they won their last four games in a row, including shutting out #7 Montcalm 24-0 to finish the season with an impressive 6-4 season.

The Raiders will begin their season on August 30th at home against Mount View, a team that struggled in 2023. From there, they’ll head to Kentucky to face East Ridge High School in Pike County on September 6th.
