    Wave pool, community center planned for Mercer County

    PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) — New public facilities, including a wave pool, will be coming to part of Mercer County.

    According to a press release, the new facilities were agreed on by the City of Princeton and the Preservati Family Charitable Trust Foundation, and the facilities will be located at the Bee Street Complex.

    The press release stated that the public facilities that would be added will include an outdoor wave pool and a community center.

    Details about each facility includes:

    Wave Pool

    • 8,000 square feet
    • Additional splash pad
    • Accessory building with showers, concessions, and locker rooms

    Community Center

    • Multi-purpose rooms

    The press release stated that the estimated cost of the community center will be around $5,933,630 and that an allocation by Governor Justice, as well as a joint
    congressional appropriation by Senator Manchin and Senator Capito, will partially fund the community center.

    Ginseng season kicks off in the Mountain State

    According to the press release, the wave pool and accessory building will be locally funded by the City of Princeton, and will cost approximately $4,466,751.

    The press release stated that the wave pool and community center’s funding packages are not finished yet, however updates, such as construction schedule information, will be announced later on.

    Considering how many perks the city of Princeton gives the Preservatis, a pool is the least expensive way to give back. Besides, when Justice, Mansion, and Capito get involved you can GUARANTEE theyll benefit more than the community.
