Salvation Army of Beckley hosts Open House for Boys and Girls Club during Kids’ Classic Festival

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — The Kids Classic Festival continued in Beckley on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, with activities at the Salvation Army of Beckley, according to Beckley Events director Jill Moorefield.

The Salvation Army on Robert C. Byrd Drive hosted an open house to showcase the Boys and Girls Club of America program, which provides support to teens and kids.

“Kids can come after school. They will get a meal. They will get help with their homework, and then they’ll play games and do things like that, as well,” said Moorefield, describing the program showcased during the Open House. “So, it’s just great for parents, especially that live in that area.”

The Salvation Army of Beckley offers the Boys and Girls Club of America inside a new facility which features classrooms and a gymnasium.
