Our transportation system is the foundation for economic growth in our State, and that’s why improving and modernizing our roads, bridges and highways has been and continues to be one of my top priorities. This investment of more than $25 million will boost tourism, spur economic development and promote safe and secure travel for all West Virginians. I was proud to support the City’s request for this funding and, as a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue advocating for resources to strengthen our transportation infrastructure across the Mountain State.

The funds will help improve areas by U.S. Route 52, which will include turning four intersections into roundabouts, and helping with pedestrian safety by adding street lighting, sidewalks, and crosswalks.
