WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, WV (WVNS) – The Freshwater Folk Festival took to the White Sulphur Springs National Fish Hatchery location to celebrate and educate people on the wonderful nature around us.

“This is a really fine Freshwater Folk Festival. The first one was here in 2005. This is the 18th annual, we missed a couple of years cause of Covid, and things are turning out well. I mean, by 12 o’clock, we let the sunshine in and Cody Wickline started playing,” said Larry Davis, the president of the Friends of the White Sulphurs Springs National Fish Hatchery.

“As you see in this busy tent right here, the component of helping people find more about their environment, more about the animals that live around here, things having to do with sport fishing and so forth. We have kids over there casting for, we call them, ‘Backyard Bass,’ they’re made out of plastic,” said Davis.

“It is a great opportunity to get people interested in science, because that is a tremendous need,” added Davis.
