Premiere date extended for West Virginia-made comedy film

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — The public premiere date will be extended for the West Virginia-made comedy film in September 2024.

According to a press release, due to a large demand for tickets, a second date will be added to the premiere date for “Ambrosia!”

The first premiere will take place in the Beckley area of Raleigh County on September 27, 2024 at the Raleigh Playhouse and Theatre, with the extended date occurring on September 28, 2024 due to the amount of interest in the film.

After the announcement of the premiere, we were flooded with inquiries and realized the theater might fill, though that’s a good problem to have.

The press release stated that “Ambrosia!” is a 90-minute long comedy film that follows the misadventures of an innkeeper who struggles to manage a house full of eccentric guests and staff. According to the press release, Shane Pierce and David Gravely, who wrote and directed the film, aimed to create a Hollywood-style screwball comedy.

The film was made in the Mountain State, parts of the film were shot in Beckley, and it will feature cast and crew members from West Virginia.
