FBI Pittsburgh opens applications for Teen Academy in West Virginia

PITTSBURGH, PA (WVNS) — The 2024 FBI Pittsburgh Teen Academy is now taking applications for eligible residents of Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Have you ever wondered what a day as an FBI agent may look like? Do you know what it takes to become an Intelligence Analyst and conduct work regarding national security?

There are many experiences available within the 2024 FBI Pittsburgh Teen Academy.

Applications are now open for high school juniors or seniors that have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and residing in Western Pennsylvania or West Virginia. Topics that will be explored within the program include:

• Fitness
• Forensic Science
• Evidence gathering
• Violence prevention
• Sextortion
• Hoax threats
• Career Pathways for Special Agents, Intel Analysts, and more
• What is investigated by the FBI
• The FBI’s international and domestic roles

The program includes the chance for interested teens to take part in one class located Beckley, Charleston, Martinsburg, or Wheeling in West Virginia, or in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Any students that show an interest in the FBI is welcome to apply, the program is not limited to individuals interested in criminal justice. Those from different backgrounds, interests and experiences are welcomed to apply. Students will be selected based on their application (school and community involvement, GPA, etc.) and written essay. The process should be taken seriously, as none of the above criteria will be the sole factor in the evaluation.
