    Road reopened after structure fire in Greenbrier County

    UPDATE: Wednesday, September 11, 2024 @ 3:31 p.m. | RAINELLE, WV (WVNS) — According to Greenbrier County Dispatch, the structure fire near Rainelle is out, and the part of Route 60 that was previously closed due to the fire was reopened.


    RAINELLE, WV (WVNS) — A road is closed in Greenbrier County due to a structure fire.

    According to Greenbrier County Dispatch and a post on the Town of Rainelle Police Department’s Facebook page, Route 60 just outside of the Rainelle area of Greenbrier County is closed due to a structure fire.

    Responding agencies include Rainelle Volunteer Fire Department, Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department, Quinwood Volunteer Fire Department, and Smoot Volunteer Fire Department.

    Greenbrier County Dispatch stated that no injuries were reported.

    The Town of Rainelle Police Department’s Facebook post advised people to avoid the area due to the fire and road closure.

    A press release from Greenbrier County Homeland Security and Emergency Management stated that because of the fire, power outage, and no way to pump water, it is necessary for residents in the Rainelle area to conserve water.
