OAK HILL, WV (WVNS) — On Thursday, September 12, 2024, an outdoor burn ban was announced for part of Fayette County.

According to a press release, the Oak Hill Fire Chief ordered that an outdoor burn ban would go into effect for the City of Oak Hill on Thursday, September 12, 2024 due to dry conditions in the area.

No outdoor burning can take place within Oak Hill city limits, and it it is unknown when the outdoor burn ban will end.

The burn ban was put into effect due to brush fires popping up because of the dry conditions in the state, as well as increasing winds, and little rain in the upcoming days.
