    WVDACH is accepting submissions for a new wildlife exhibit at the Culture Center

    CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) — The West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History will accept submissions for the third installment of Inspired: A West Virginia Series of Juried Exhibitions beginning on September 20, 2024.

    The installation will feature wildlife of the Mountain State. The exhibit, which is accepting submissions until November 8, 2024, will open on January 25, 2025 at 2 p.m. An awards ceremony and reception will be held within the Culture Center located in the State Capitol Complex in Charleston. The exhibit will be displayed until mid-May 2025.

    Inspired: A West Virginia Series of Juried Exhibitions is a four-part exhibition series that honors the 250th anniversary of the United States’ founding. It seeks to highlight visual elements from across West Virginia. The previous exhibitions have featured landscapes, and historic structures. The series will be displayed in the Commissioner’s Gallery within the Cultural Center.

    Those wishing to enter must be West Virginia residents and are able to enter no more than two pieces in each exhibition. Entries should be no older than two years and no larger than 7 feet in any dimension. Film and videos are not permitted for submission to this exhibit.
