FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WVNS) — An outdoor burn ban was announced for Fayette County on Friday, September 13, 2024.

According to a press release from the Fayette County Commission, an outdoor burn ban went into effect on Friday, September 13, 2024, and will continue until further notice is given by the Fayette County Commission.

Burn ban announced for the City of Oak Hill

The ban prohibits burning outdoors in Fayette County due to higher risk of wildfires because of dry conditions in the state, as well as increasing winds and little rain in the upcoming days.

More information can be found by calling the Fayette County Office of Emergency Management at 304-574-4952.
