Academy Sports and Outdoors grand opening in Beckley

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) – Beckley welcomed the grand opening of Academy Sports and Outdoors on September 13, 2024.

The sporting goods and outdoor recreation realtor celebrated is second location in West Virginia. The over 65,000 square foot store carries footwear, apparel, hunting, camping, baseball supplies and much more.

The company is planning on extending their locations with the end goal of opening 160 to 180 stores over the next 5 years.

“The community, it’s been great. We really hope that they are just open to the business that we’re offering and they’re really coming to support us so that we can support them on the back half as well. It’s been it’s been a really it’s been a really great endeavor so far,” said Brianna Woolever who is the store director at Academy Sports and Outdoors in Beckley.

The first 150 customers on September 14th and 15th will receive a gift card with a mystery amount loaded.
