A mild night with a dry Sunday; rain chances looking possible next week

Saturday evening should start off pleasantly enough with temps in the 70s under partly cloudy skies. Evening plans look great though if you plan to be outside, it will be breezy at times with winds out of the east. We’ll remain calm and clear tonight, while still breezy with gusts pushing 25 mph at times, as well as cool with overnight lows in the 50s.
Sunday looks to be a great end to the weekend as we go from the 50s/60s in the morning into the middle to upper 70s later in the day. We’ll see the occasional cloud here or there but nothing in the way of rain chances. Combined with the breezy conditions, outdoor burning should be discouraged given how dry our conditions are.
Monday looks like it will start off on a great note: temps in the 50s/60s followed by plenty of sunshine through lunchtime. Into the afternoon and evening, don’t be surprised to see some cloud cover as temps rise into the 70s. If our next system picks up stream, we could see the chance for a shower across the eastern mountain counties that night.
Tuesday, we turn our attention to a low-pressure system forming up along the east coast. The timing and direction of the low is still in play, but our eastern counties at least have the chance to pick up some showers. Add in some cloud cover, temps will stay in the 70s in the afternoon.
Wednesday follows our low-pressure system as it continues its track. Again, timing and track will play a key into how much rain we do see but at this juncture, rain chances still look best across our eastern counties. At least temps will stay on the cool side as they once again only get into the 70s during the afternoon.
Thursday maintains our low across the region, which again keeps the chance for some rain a good bet. The morning commute shouldn’t be that bad but isolated to scattered showers do look possible later in the day. The abundance of clouds with some showers will again keep temps in just the 70s.
Friday should see a bit more sunshine throughout the day, helping temps warm up into the 70s again for dinnertime. Though with our low still meandering across the Ohio Valley, we could see a few isolated to scattered showers during the afternoon timeframe so pack an umbrella just in case for high school football.
Saturday, as this point, is pointing to be the driest of the days as our low backs off. Partly cloudy skies do look to be a good bet, but we do look to catch some breaks from the showers. Some extra peaks of sunshine will allow temps to rise near 80 as we get into the late afternoon.
In your extended forecast, Sunday is also looking fairly dry as our high-pressure system tries to regain some control. We do trend on the dry side through Monday before a cold front arrives on Tuesday and/or Wednesday, giving us more chances for rain. Enough sunshine as temps should rebound back near 80 by the middle of next week.
