BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) – One local church is celebrating its 100 year anniversary.

The Beckley Regular Baptist Church was founded in 1924 and is going strong to this day.

For its big celebration, the church switched up things from their normal schedule.

They held a special service preached by one of their former pastors, followed by a lunch, and they finished things out with a praise and worship service.

Pastor Ken Smith told 59News one of the focuses for this church as it moves forward.

“One of the things that we say, you know, our buildings look big, but we like to use this saying, and that is, ‘Big building, small church, big heart for Jesus,’ and we want to get to know the community better,” said Pastor Smith.

This church was originally a much smaller building that they just kept building onto. They normally hold Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday followed by their 10:45 morning service.

Congratulations on 100 years, Beckley Regular Baptist Church!
