    Countywide burn ban announced for Greenbrier County

    GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (WVNS) — An open burn ban was announced for Greenbrier County on Monday, September 16, 2024.

    According to a press release, an open burn ban for Greenbrier County was announced by the Greenbrier County Homeland Security & Emergency Management and the Greenbrier County Commission.

    Burn ban announced for Fayette County

    The burn ban was issued due to the drought conditions throughout the state, as well as little rain, which increase the risk of wildfires.

    The press release stated that it is unknown when the open burn ban will end.
