BEAVER, WV (WVNS) – Operation Underdog hosted their annual Woof-Walk.

Participants gathered with their pets for a lovely stroll around Little Beaver State Park. Those who showed up received a T-shirt and a bandana for their little furry friend.

Operation Underdog Co-founder Elizabeth Raney told 59News how this Woof-Walk goes to help a good cause.

“It gets our dogs out and lets them experience something with their owner or with their foster parents. It also gets them seen and things like that with other people that might be potentially looking for a pet and it just gives us money to help us do things like more spay and neuter, and more transport options for pets getting out of the area that need placement. So that is something that we help with: placing dogs with other groups and we transport them,” said Raney.

Raney said this was the first time they were able to do the Woof-Walk in person, as this tradition began during the pandemic. Despite the new in-person option, they are still offering the virtual option for folks.

She said they hope to make this an annual tradition.
