RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (WVNS) — Members of the West Virginia State Police will be holding a DUI Checkpoint in part of Raleigh County in September 2024.

According to a press release, a DUI Checkpoint will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024 along U.S. Route 19, around 0.1 mile south of the intersection with Airport Road in the Beaver area of Raleigh County.

Countywide burn ban announced for Raleigh County

DUI Checkpoints are meant to discourage people from driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, while also informing the public about the risks associated with driving while under the influence.

In the press release, members of the West Virginia State Police advised the public to help members of law enforcement prevent people driving while impaired by local detachments of the West Virginia State Police, Crime Stoppers of West Virginia, or other law enforcement agencies if they see someone driving under the influence.
