Increased police presence at PikeView Middle and High School

MERCER COUNTY, WV ( WVNS ) — An increased police presence will be seen at both PikeView Middle and High School due to “unsubstantiated” threats made on social media.

According to a post from Edward Toman, Superintendent of Mercer County Schools, due to social media threats made towards specifically PikeView Middle Scholl and PikeView High School, more security will be on both campuses out of an abundance of caution.

This comes after two students from Riverview High School in McDowell County were charged for making threats online.
