Bench warrant list released by the Bluefield West Virginia Police Department

BLUEFIELD, WV (WVNS) — The Bluefield West Virginia Police Department released a new bench warrant list Friday, September 20, 2024.

The Bluefield City Municipal Court issued the bench and arrest warrants, but it is not the full warrant list. The people on the list could be wanted for reasons that include obstructing an officer, assault, destruction of property, prostitution, drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, DUI, or other reasons, not only traffic tickets.

According to a Facebook post made by the Bluefield West Virginia Police Department, the people on the list can go to the Bluefield City Police Department and turn themselves in. When someone on the list turns themselves in, they will be processed through the jail and given a bond amount.

The person will be released and will get a future court date if they make bond. Those who have show cause warrants can go to the Bluefield City Police Department and pay the fine to get the warrant dismissed.

The defendants are believed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The listed individuals have had previous convictions of crimes charged through the City of Bluefield.
