    CoalTown Fall Festival to be held in McDowell County

    WELCH, WV (WVNS) — A fall festival will take place towards the end of September 2024 in part of McDowell County.

    According to a post on the City of Welch, WV – CoalTown, USA’s Facebook page, the CoalTown Fall Festival will take place at 151 McDowell Street, Welch, Martha Moore Park, from Wednesday, September 25, 2024 through Saturday, September 28, 2024.

    Events at the festival will include:

    • Shane Thomas Band – Friday, September 27, 2024 at 7:30 p.m.
    • Karaoke – Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. – Mr. Bill will be on-site, and all singers are welcome to participate.

    The hours for the carnival and vendors are:

    • 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
    • 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday
    Trans-Siberian Orchestra The Lost Christmas Eve Tour to come to West Virginia in 2024

    Fireworks will also be a part of the event, and will be at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024.

    The City of Welch, WV – CoalTown, USA’s Facebook post stated that McDowell Street will be closed on 9:00 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024 and will be reopened on Sunday, September 29, 2024. Wyoming Street will be closed to two-way traffic on Friday, September 27, 2024, and Saturday, September 28, 2024.
