    Fayette County man pleads guilty to drug crime

    OAK HILL, WV (WVNS) — A Fayette County man pleaded guilty to distribution of methamphetamine.

    According to a press release, John Gray, 39, of Oak Hill, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, to selling an estimated two pounds of methamphetamine to a confidential informant in Oak Hill on March 29, 2023. Gray acknowledged the sale and confessed to also selling an estimated 848 grams of methamphetamine to an informant in Oak Hill on May 1, 2023.

    Gray issued another admission in which he sold three grams of fentanyl on May 3, 2024, as well as three more grams on May 6, 2024 to confidential informants.

    In a law enforcement interview, held on March 1, 2024, Gray said that he distributed an estimated three grams of fentanyl three times every week in the time between April 2023 and his March 2024 arrest, as disclosed by the press release.

    Gray’s sentencing is set for January 24, 2025, and faces up to twenty years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $1 million fine.
