    Bluefield Virginia Police Department advises against travel except in emergency situations

    BLUEFIELD, VA (WVNS) — Due to the weather and multiple fallen trees, a local police department advised people to not travel in the town of Bluefield, Virginia except in emergency situations.

    According to a post on the Bluefield Virginia Police Department’s Facebook page, members of the police department encouraged members of the community to stay home unless there is an emergency.

    The Bluefield Virginia Police Department stated that there are fallen and actively falling trees, flooded roads, road closures, and downed power lines in town, and it is recommended for people to stay home.

    The fire department, police department, town crews are working to close and clear trees from roads.
