FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WVNS) — Close out your Bridge Day experience with the 14th Annual Bridge Day Cook-off in downtown Fayetteville on October 19, 2024!

End your day of adrenaline-pumping events held on the New River Gorge Bridge, visit Fayetteville for chili, live entertainment, and fun for the family.

From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. chili from around the region will be available to sample as locals challenge each other for the award of Chili King/Chili Queen. There is no cost to attend the event; chili sample tickets will be sold in packs of 5 for $2. Try local flavors and vote for your favorite vendor’s chili through the People’s Choice bead drop. Entertainment during the event will be provided by the Long Point String Band, a local bluegrass/old time group.

Lewisburg to host “restaurant week” after second straight USA Today 1st place win

If you think you’ve got the award-winning chili recipe, spots are still available for cooks. The competition is divided into youth and adult divisions with cash prizes:

    • $600 for 1st place
    • $400 for 2nd place
    • $200 for 3rd place
    • $200 for Best Vegetarian
    • $150 for the People’s Choice

And it’s $600 for first place for both divisions. So there’s a lot of chances to win. And then we have $400 for second and third is $200. And then there’s additional categories you can rack up. So it’s a pretty good competition.
