Pillow Drive held in Mercer County for emergency responders in western North Carolina and Tennessee

PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) — A Pillow Drive will be held in part of Mercer County for those who are working to help parts of western North Carolina and Tennessee after Helene.

According to a press release, the Pillow Drive will be held by the Mercer County Coalition for Healthy Communities as a way to help emergency responders who are helping communities who were affected by Helene in western North Carolina and Tennessee.

The Pillow Drive will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2024 and Friday, October 4, 2024 at 215 South Walker Street in Princeton, West Virginia.

The press release stated that the Mercer County Coalition for Healthy Communities are only looking for new pillows.

The pillows will give emergency responders a place to rest after working on recovery efforts, which can leave them sleeping in makeshift areas without proper supplies.

Local businesses, organizations, and members of the community are welcome to participate in the Pillow Drive as a way to aid the emergency responders who are working on recovery efforts in the aftermath of Helene.
