    CU to host the opening day of Small Communities, BIG Solutions conference

    ATHENS, WV (WVNS) — Concord University (CU) is gearing up to host the opening day of the 7th Annual Small Communities, BIG Solutions Conference.

    The conference, presented by The Alliance for the Economic Development of Southern West Virginia, The HUB, Coalfield Development, and Generation WV, is set to take place from November 20, 2024 to November 22, 2024.

    The conference will focus on creativity within West Virginia and connecting issues that matter through the theme “Creativity, Connection, and Collaboration,” according to a press release. Each day will bring with it fresh sessions, speakers, and opportunities for connection, including panels dealing with workforce development, problem-solving, and entrepreneurship.

    Over the course of the three day conference, events will be held at Concord University, Downtown Princeton at Mercer Street, as well as the Chuck Mathena Center. On the last day of the event, awards will be given to recognize individuals that are contributing greatly to those in West Virginia. Winners of the Power of Performance Awards will be separated into three categories: putting people to work, revitalizing communities, and changing lives as stated in the release.
