Wyoming County man sentenced for grand larceny

WYOMING COUNTY, WV (WVNS) — A Wyoming County man was sentenced to prison for Grand Larceny on Tuesday October 9, 2024.

According to a press release, Jessie Tolliver, 45, of Wyoming County, was sentenced to one to ten years in prison for Grand Larceny; Tolliver previously pleaded guilty on August 12, 2024 .

On October 28, 2023, Sergeant Tyler Sizemore of the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office pursued a fight complaint located in the East Pineville area of Wyoming County. Once on the scene, the deputy talked with victims of a reported breaking and entering who stated that they were contacted by an individual concerned that Tolliver was in their laundromat.

Tolliver was located by the victims in the establishment and was found in possession of the victim’s plumbing tools, amounting to more than $1,000. Tolliver then fled on foot, before being arrested by members of law enforcement. Tolliver later confessed to the crime.

As I said when we convicted Tolliver, this is a good example of citizens working with law enforcement to detect criminal activity and solve crime. Citizens working hand in hand with law enforcement is critical to creating and maintaining a safe community.
