    Low tire pressure awareness key as winter temperatures arrive

    BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — 59News is bringing awareness to an issue that affects all drivers – low tire pressure.

    Now that the temperatures are dropping, you may notice that a tire pressure light in your car has popped up.

    But did you know that tire pressure can decrease due to temperature lowering? If you notice this has happened to your car it is recommended to check the tire pressure according to local Tire Salesman Beau Thompson.

    Tire Safety and Tips during the winter season

    ”You probably need to check your pressure. A lot of vehicles show what your pressure is when it’s cold. A lot of times that light will come on just because loss off pressure from the from the air. When it’s warmer, your pressure usually stay the same or you’ll gain just from the heat buildup and stuff in the tire,” said Thompson.

    Be sure to check your tires regularly especially as the seasons are changing, to ensure your and other’s safety and well-being.
