CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) — Spooky season is here, and thousands of people expressed interest in West Virginia’s new Paranormal Trail.
According to a press release from Governor Jim Justice, interest in the Mountain State’s new Paranormal Trail is high, with more than 4,300 people signing up to visit some of the haunted locations in West Virginia.
While we expected the Paranormal Trail to be of interest to some travelers, we couldn’t have predicted just how well it would be received this quickly. Not only are folks signing up for the trail but we have a pretty big group that has already been to all the stops! I’m thrilled to see the general excitement and interest in traveling around to experience West Virginia’s haunted attractions.

Those who sign up for the trail will have a digital passport to check in at each of the locations along the trail, as well as allow participants to unlock prizes and earn points. Almost 800 people signed in on the digital passports for the Paranormal Trail, and participants can also register for the trail online and get the passport through text or email.
Some of the exclusive prizes that participants can unlock include an official sticker, beanie, and limited-edition print by West Virginia artist Liz Pavlovic.
