BECKLEY, WV ( WVNS ) — The jury selection and trial in relation to Natalie Cochran has been continued again, according to court documents.

Cochran is a former pharmacist from Raleigh County who is accused of killing her husband in 2019.

The court documents, filed on October 17, 2024, stated that the court believed “significant discovery materials” that were in possession of the State, were not given to the defense, which caused difficulties in pre-trial planning.

…significant discovery materials in the State’s possession or under its control, were inadvertently not provided to the defense, thereby causing trial preparation difficulties with defense experts.

Order Continuing Jury Selection & Trial

It was not stated when jury selection will happen.

as a citizen I am absolutely outraged that this is being continued because our prosecutor is under investigation and won't do the right thing and step down so justice can continue. This truly shows you that he doesn't care about justice he cares about points on his name and clout. Ben Hatfield is a mess and as far as I am concerned anything he presided over deserves a second runthrough. He seems to lie on stand, he holds grudges and abused his power and this is our current prosecutor we are talking about not some scummy city attorney.
