Tonight features mostly clear skies as temperatures plummet once again down to around 30 degrees. Any county that is still considered to be in the growing season is under either an advisory or warning tonight with temperatures expected to fall below freezing.

Friday will be much warmer than Thursday as high pressure shifts off to our east. As a result, we will pick up a southerly breeze, which will make for a much warmer afternoon with highs in the mid 60s. High school football games will be dry with mostly clear skies, but much like last week, those games will be chilly by the end of the fourth quarter, so dress accordingly, as we’ll be back into the mid 40s by the end of area games. I’ll be live at our game of the week, which features the Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles facing the undefeated Princeton Tigers at Hunnicutt Stadium! Kickoff is at 7 PM and we will have a multitude of highlights ready for you Friday at 11 PM during the Sports Zone!

Saturday continues the warming trend with plenty of sunshine expected and highs in the upper 60s as our southerly breeze continues. That’s close to normal for this time of year in terms of high temperatures. For those attending Bridge Day, the weather looks absolutely stellar, and the wind will be relaxed for those dare-deviling off the bridge!

Sunday keeps the dry weather pattern continuing, as high pressure continues to sit over the area. This means storm systems will be moving around us, not through us. Mostly sunny skies are expected with highs pushing to near 70.

Monday once again will be dry with temperatures in the low 70s with plenty of sunshine expected. That’s a nearly a 30 degree rebound in high temperature from what we saw today over the course of just a few days!

Tuesday keeps the sunshine around with high pressure in control with highs in the low 70s.

Wednesday provides the risk for a few showers with a weak front crossing. Most of the day is dry with highs in the low 70s.

Thursday provides plenty of sunshine, but temperatures will be slightly cooler behind our front, as high temperatures only reach the mid 60s.

Looking ahead in your extended forecast, our dry pattern will be continuing. This is not good for our drought and fire threats, which are slowly increasing with each dry day. Temperatures will be slightly above normal Friday through Sunday with highs in the mid 60s on Friday and highs near 70 Saturday and Sunday.
